Jacqueline Fernandes Former Miss Sri Lanka debut with Aladdin
Jacqueline Fernandes is a Miss Sri Lanka who did her schooling in Bahrain where her father Elroy and mom Kim are based.
Jacqueline Fernandes studied media communications in Sydney and returned to Colombo where her aunt Fredericka Jamsc, a political journalist, introduced her to the TV world.
Jacqueline anchored a telly show for a while till she reached Mumbai on a modelling contract which ultimately led her to a role in Aladin.
About her acting debut she said "I have been taking Hindi classes and have improved a lot. When I auditioned for Aladin, I was terrible. Later, at Sujoy's behest I enrolled at Barry John's acting studio."
This Miss Sri Lanka plays Aladin’s Jasmine in Sujoy Ghosh’s next film. She also has Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai in the pipeline. “I love Bollywood because it’s all about naach-gaana, romantic scenes and dramatic moments,” she’s said. Sujoy views it as a win-win situation. “Indian audiences are wowed by international names. Bollywood gives foreign talent a good career boost as they do more than just acting,” explains Sujoy.
